Los Angeles, California, the City of Angels, has birthed yet another angelic voice. Vanessa Béjine is more than just another pop artist on the horizon; she is a beacon of hope, narrating tales of personal defeat, resilience, and growth through her resonating, soft soprano vocals.

An American Filipina/Latina prodigy, Vanessa’s roots trace back to a blend of Mexican and Filipino ancestry, a melange that evidently influences her distinct sound. With her mother being Mexican and her father Filipino, one can detect the blend of cultures in her melodious voice and style.

The story of Vanessa’s foray into music started innocently enough. The five-year-old Vanessa would steal the show at family gatherings, which ultimately led her to school choirs and talent shows. However, the real pivot came when she relocated to LA. Vanessa, in search of a break, connected with a Soul Train manager, who further introduced her to a producer from Atlantic Records. This liaison led to the birth of her debut single, “Addicted”, in 2016.

Fast forward to 2023, Vanessa’s recently released single, “FIGHT,” speaks to the core of her music. Without diving into exact lyrics, this particular song touches upon the profound longing for someone who once was a pillar in life, the relentless struggle to hold onto their memories, and the undying spirit to carry on.

Her music leans away from the contemporary and commercial themes of money, sex, and drugs, echoing instead her authentic experiences. She emphasized, “I want to share my story of defeat through music, in hopes of making a positive impact in the world.” Vanessa’s ethos revolves around bringing forth music that people can truly relate to.

For those new to Vanessa’s artistry, it’s safe to say her tunes can be described as ‘Inspirational Pop’, possessing the power to instill hope and strength in listeners. She draws her influences from stalwarts like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Morgan Wallen, admiring the emotional depth they bring to their songs.

As of now, Vanessa is neck-deep in crafting her debut album, an endeavor that has been years in the making. But as they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” She confidently asserts that the time spent on the project will only make the album that much greater. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release towards the end of December 2023 or early January 2024.

Now, if you’re pondering over her album’s essence, Vanessa divulges, “I got very vulnerable. It has so much emotion in it that I believe many can relate to. It pertains to my life struggles and story of defeat and how I’ve overcome with God.”

Before concluding, Vanessa’s message for all is crystal clear: “Nothing worth it in life is ever easy… Never ever give up on yourself! Loneliness, anxiety, doubt, homelessness, financial struggle, comparison…these are all things I believe many of us struggle with. They are all things I also sing about in my upcoming album. I hope when people hear this album, they no longer feel alone.”
