Jennifer’s journey into the realm of music is a story of early inspiration and continuous growth. Her first tryst with music was in a church, surrounded by hymns and the warm scent of casseroles. From a young age, she was inseparable from her Fisher-Price cassette player, singing along to Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Disney tunes, and Vacation Bible School songs. Piano lessons and participation in school bands followed, but it was in eighth grade, after watching a movie about a famous singer, that Jennifer’s passion for singing truly ignited. She dove headfirst into stage productions, joined choirs at school and church, and even picked up the guitar – all steps that led her closer to her destiny in music.
Jennifer’s educational journey is as impressive as her musical one. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music, and for the past thirteen years, she has shared her passion and knowledge as a school choir teacher. In addition to this, she has directed music at several churches. However, it was only recently, in her mid-thirties, that Jennifer embarked on the journey of songwriting. Inspired by the transformative power of Christian music, she began writing her own songs, a process she describes as a flow of endless ideas, leading her to record her creations at Blue Sky Studios.
So, what does a Jennifer Adams song sound like? Expect catchy tunes, simple and smooth vocals, and a generous helping of fun background vocals. The piano, her songwriting companion, features prominently in her music. Her lyrics are deeply rooted in scripture and hymns, telling personal and sometimes unintentionally funny stories. Every song she creates is a piece of her spiritual journey, a moment of communion with the Lord.
Jennifer’s music is more than just entertainment; it’s a ministry. She hopes that her songs serve as powerful weapons against anxiety and despair, filling listeners’ minds with the truth of God’s love. Jennifer’s music is a melting pot of influences, from her choir background and love for harmony to the catchy melodies of 50s to 70s pop music, 90s pop groups, and the storytelling and vocal styles of Loretta Lynn, Ginny Owens, and Andrew Peterson. These influences have shaped her into the artist she is today, helping her create music that is catchy, genuine, and deeply rooted in her faith.
Currently, Jennifer is in the midst of releasing her first mini-album, with the third of seven singles already out and the rest scheduled for release through spring 2024. She’s also actively booking live shows for 2024, inviting fans and music lovers to get in touch if they wish to host her performance.
