Remember that kid in preschool who’d belt out songs at the drop of a hat? For Devorah, that was just the beginning. Fast forward to today, and she’s no longer serenading classmates on the playground – she’s just dropped her first album, ‘I Am‘. This up-and-coming electropop artist has packed 13 tracks into a debut that’s as personal as it is catchy.

Devorah’s not your typical newcomer. She’s been fine-tuning her sound since those early playground days, and ‘I Am’ feels like flipping through a musical photo album of her life. It’s got those earworm beats you’d expect from electropop, but there’s something raw and real hiding in the synths.

We caught up with Devorah on release day, and let me tell you, her excitement is contagious. She’s an open book, ready to chat about everything from her earliest performances to the late nights in the studio. It’s clear this album isn’t just a collection of songs for her – it’s chapters of her life set to a beat.

So, grab a seat. We’re about to dive into Devorah’s world, from preschool performances to produced tracks, and all the life lessons in between.

Let’s start at the beginning. You’ve been making music since you were very young. Can you tell us about your earliest memory of performing?

Devorah laughs, a hint of nostalgia in her voice. “When I was four years old, I had this moment in preschool that still makes people smile. During recess, I climbed up onto a picnic table, feeling like I was on top of the world. My classmates gathered around, and I just started singing and dancing – probably something from a cartoon I loved at the time. The teachers let me have my moment, knowing it was a special display of confidence and creativity.”

That’s quite a start. How has your journey evolved since then?

“It’s been a rollercoaster,” Devorah admits, her tone becoming more serious. “I’ve battled and overcome addiction, which was undoubtedly the hardest part of my journey. But it’s also been a source of inspiration. Every note and lyric I write now is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the healing power of music.”

‘I Am’ by Devorah

Your new album, ‘I Am’, seems to reflect that journey. Can you tell us more about it?

Devorah’s enthusiasm is real. “This album is really special to me. It’s a collaboration with some incredible producers – ReOrder, known for his work with Armada Music and Armin Van Buuren, and Patrick Ryan Heaney, who’s worked with CHVRCHES and Skrillex. We’ve created this dynamic fusion of electropop and EDM that I think really captures my essence as an artist.”

Any standout tracks you’re particularly proud of?

“Honestly, I’m proud of all of them,” Devorah says with genuine warmth. “Each track represents a different facet of my journey and artistry. From ‘Begging for More’ to ‘Breaking Through’ and the more vulnerable ‘Drag Me Down,’ and everything in between – they all hold a special place for me. I think the album really showcases the range of emotions and experiences I wanted to express.”

Your music is often described as a blend of electropop and EDM. How would you describe it to a first-time listener?

“It’s the kind of sound that gets people moving, with pulsing rhythms and catchy hooks that linger long after the track ends. The production is polished, but there’s this raw energy that reflects my intensity as a creator. Whether it’s a high-energy anthem or a more introspective piece, I hope my music resonates with listeners on both the dance floor and in their personal moments.”

Beyond your music, you’re also a Reiki master. How does your spirituality influence your work?

“My spirituality is a wellspring of inspiration,” Devorah explains thoughtfully. “It infuses my compositions with a sense of purpose and meaning. I think it helps me connect with listeners on a deeper level, inviting them to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing through my music.”

What’s next for you?

“I’m currently working on an EP with Patrick Ryan Heaney, which I’m really excited about. I’ll be performing at the Springboard festival in Memphis this October. And of course, I’ll be making music for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to share more with my listeners.”

As our interview concludes, it’s clear that Devorah is an artist on the rise, with a unique voice and a powerful story to tell. Her album ‘I Am’ is available now on Spotify and other major platforms. Fans can connect with Devorah through her official website, Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify artist page.
