Nine years ago, Monica Tuccella set foot in Boston, Massachusetts with a simple ambition – to master English. Her journey, however, tells a riveting tale of hope and success, especially in a narrative often dominated by the struggles of immigration. Monica’s journey has been far from normal.

Fast forward to today, and Monica stands as a much-admired business leader. Adding to her accolades, she’s the driving force behind Seolvit, a growth marketing agency that has generated a whopping $100 million for local businesses. Her transition from a fresh-off-the-plane newcomer to a respected entrepreneur and mentor paints a vivid picture of innovation and community leadership.

Can you tell us more about what motivated you to stay in the U.S. and start your own business?

It was definitely a journey. Originally, I was only supposed to be in the U.S. for six months — just picking up some English skills. But then a phone call at the airport flipped everything upside down. Back home in Venezuela, things went from bad to worse. I had to make a tough call.

But I’ve always been one for a challenge, so I chose to stay. I plunged myself into learning, not just the language, but the culture too. Fast forward to graduation day at Bentley University, me walking with a Magna Cum Laude honor. But, of course, life loves a challenge and so the pandemic hit right as I tried to kickstart my career in marketing.

But ‘impossible’ is not in my dictionary. So there I was, selling door-to-door, paying my dues while dreaming of my own marketing agency. And I guess the universe felt I was ready when my marketing content on Instagram began to attract attention and finally success found me. My brainchild, Seolvit, was born from these tough times, and boy has it flourished! Today, we boast of crossing the $100 million mark, mostly in businesses in Massachusetts.

Can you tell us more about Seolvit and its mission?

Seolvit isn’t just your average marketing agency. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond, empowering businesses with knowledge and toolkits for success. We deliver unique digital marketing solutions from SEO to web development.

We aim to be true partners, providing direction and insight in the often confusing digital marketing realm. But what sets us apart is our commitment to transparency – no secrets, just revealing the entire process. This way, our clients can hit the ground running with innovative strategies at their fingertips.

Another thing that makes us stand out is our dedication to fostering solid, lasting relationships. We relish seeing our clients thrive in the face of competition. Not only do we offer expertise, but we also ensure every interaction is rewarding, enlightening, and extremely transparent.

You’ve mentioned your dedication to mentoring young entrepreneurs. What drives this commitment?

I’ve always believed in the beauty of giving back. And seeing that I’ve had my share of obstacles along my entrepreneurial path, I know exactly how crucial timely advice and support are. This is why partnering with organizations like Hope Community Development Corporation, eForAll, and the Latino Economic Development Corporation fills me with purpose.

I have a soft spot for supporting Latina entrepreneurs and minorities, showing them that success is attainable through persistence and dedication. Through consulting sessions, mentoring, ebooks, courses, and blog posts, I aim to inspire and lend a helping hand. Mentoring is my way of paying it forward, helping to cultivate a vibrant, diverse, and thriving entrepreneurial community.

How do you manage the challenges that come with being an immigrant entrepreneur?

Immigrant entrepreneurism brings its own set of trials. But it’s all about resilience and an endless appetite for learning. I remember how hard it was for me to adapt to a different language, culture when I first arrived in the U.S.

Long story short, with a whole lot of hard work and a smidgen of stubbornness, I graduated from Bentley University, Magna Cum Laude. And it didn’t stop there; starting Seolvit was another adventure, navigating uncharted waters constantly and acquiring new skills along the way.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you must be comfortable being uncomfortable. It’s about growth, self-improvement, and a relentless work ethic. And let me tell you, adversity can be the best springboard for opportunities.

What’s next for you and Seolvit?

We’re full steam ahead! One of our most rewarding moments recently was helping a client secure an astounding $80 million contract with the government. That was a fantastic accomplishment, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Alongside other major deals, we’re also providing our expertise to over 300 entrepreneurs. Supporting their dreams and helping them on their business journey is incredibly fulfilling.

We can’t wait to launch a new project – a comprehensive marketing course for Spanish-speaking beginners—making marketing knowledge more accessible to the Spanish-speaking community.

At Seolvit, our dedication to change-making through innovative digital marketing strategies remains unwavering. We’re constantly refining and staying ahead of the curve to provide the best value.

Personally, my eyes are set on helping 100,000 entrepreneurs achieve financial independence. Til then, and definitely beyond, I’ll continue to pour my wisdom and experience into mentoring, consulting, and educational resources.
