Dr. Winston, what initially inspired you to start your journey in financial empowerment?
My journey began from a place of deep personal need and faith. Growing up as the oldest of eleven children, I learned about responsibility early on. Life was full of challenges, but I was fortunate to have a strong foundation of faith and family support. My husband and I have been married for over 55 years, which has provided me with a stable home base as I navigated my path. Over the years, I observed how many people, including myself, struggled with financial stability. I realized that financial freedom isn’t about having more but understanding how to manage and multiply what you already have. After years in corporate America as an Office Manager in Washington, D.C., I felt called to do more. My faith guided me to establish Destined2Millions and The WinstonExperience Financial Success Companies. I wanted to show people that financial empowerment is possible, even if they start with limited resources. These companies allow me to teach strategies for passive income, debt-free retirement, and overall financial success. My aim has always been to inspire others by showing them that financial independence is a journey of both faith and smart decisions.
Can you tell us more about your approach to financial empowerment and your latest projects?
My approach to financial empowerment is rooted in education, resilience, and the belief that financial well-being is accessible to everyone. With my companies, Destined2Millions and The WinstonExperience, I focus on creating resources that break down complex financial concepts. Many people feel overwhelmed by terms like “passive income” or “retirement planning.” I simplify these ideas so people from all backgrounds can understand and apply them. Recently, I launched new initiatives, including workshops and resources that guide people toward creating multiple income streams. My new books, The Empowered Me and The Path to Financial Independence, emphasize actionable steps people can take today to secure a better future.
One of my upcoming works, Perspectives on Invisible Illnesses, speaks to the unseen struggles many individuals face, not just financially but emotionally and physically. Additionally, I’m thrilled to announce Voices of Change, debuting in Ghana. These projects, coupled with my speaking engagements, help people realize that financial health is intertwined with overall wellness. My hope is that people see my work as a pathway not only to financial independence but also to personal growth and resilience.
How has your faith played a role in shaping your career and personal life?
Faith has been my guiding force, from the way I approach business to how I interact with others daily. For over 40 years, I’ve been a member of Jesus Way Temple Christian Church, where I serve in various roles. Faith is what kept me grounded when I faced challenges, and it’s what motivates me to give back. Through my church involvement, I’ve had the opportunity to work on international missions, especially in Haiti, which has reinforced the idea that serving others is at the heart of everything I do. In business, faith has taught me the importance of integrity and resilience.
Each success I’ve achieved is a testament to the strength that faith provides. In addition to my business ventures, my marriage of 55 years and my family are deeply rooted in this spiritual foundation. Faith drives me to keep going, even when things aren’t easy. When I retired, I felt an even stronger call to help people build lives of purpose and financial freedom. Teaching others about financial independence is part of my ministry, showing them that with faith and effort, they can overcome any obstacle.
What message would you like to leave with aspiring entrepreneurs and individuals seeking financial freedom?
I’d like people to understand that financial freedom isn’t just for the wealthy—it’s for anyone willing to put in the work and make informed decisions. My message is that regardless of where you are in life, you have the power to change your circumstances. I tell people to start with what they have and focus on building knowledge. Read, learn, and surround yourself with mentors who can guide you. When I began Destined2Millions, I wasn’t sure how things would turn out, but I trusted the journey. Building passive income and securing your future isn’t an overnight process. It requires resilience, dedication, and faith.
I also encourage people to align their financial goals with their personal values. Money should serve a purpose greater than material gain; it should contribute to your growth and well-being. This is why I’m so passionate about teaching strategies that are not only practical but also sustainable. Financial freedom is achievable, and I am here to guide anyone willing to take that first step. Your future isn’t defined by your past but by the actions you choose to take now.
