What is Gymnast Fitness Training?
Simply put, gymnast fitness is using gymnastic routines to become fit. Most people imagine that gymnastics is a routine for the athletes seen on TV or professionals in the field. However, Danielle Gray, a fitness expert, says that this doesn’t have to be the case. Any human being can use gymnastics to stay fit, even on a non-professional level, just like weightlifting is a sport that people use nonprofessionally to keep fit.
Danielle Gray, the Fitness Enthusiast
Gray is a 29-year-old fitness coach from Los Angeles, CA, who finds gratification in helping people adopt gymnastic routines as part of their fitness programs. She is also an entrepreneur, a fitness model, and the founder of Train Like A Gymnast. Gray’s passion for becoming a fitness coach grew after university when she coached at a gym. Most people saw her use gymnastic routines such as pole fitness, calisthenics, and weight training. She got requests to train adults privately, ad decided that she’d get certified first.
The Journey
Gray was working a day desk job at an online marketing company and had a side hustle as a gym coach. After the many requests that she got to train people in gymnastic routines. She took the NASM certification exam and passed it. She then started working with some private clients on weekends. She loved working with their clients and decided to make it a full-time job.
In 2016, Gray’s supervisor wanted to promote her to the position of senior accountant. However, she declined because she knew she didn’t want to spend the rest of her life doing something merely for survival. She set out to start her Train Like A Gymnast program and has since worked to see her business thrive.
In 2016, Train Like A Gymnast began as a 3-month e-book and evolved into an online and in-person membership program in 2018. From there, they ventured into in-person one-day workshops, 5-day destination retreats, and their newest development – their very own app! The business is Gray’s main focus, and she spends most of her time on it.
Favorite Productivity Hacks
Gray says that her most helpful productivity hack is setting timers. Because she loves working under pressure, she likes to time her activities. She observes that when she has a deadline to hit, she becomes hyper-focused. This keeps Gray super productive, focused, improve her time management skills. Instead of having 20 tabs open on her computer and wasting time going through all of them at the same time, she prefers working on one project at a time. Gray advises other professionals to set limits for their tasks and watch the magic happen.
Gray’s Future Plans
Professionally:
Much like CrossFit, Pilates, and Barre, Gray pictures Train Like A Gymnast, becoming a new fitness method for adults and kids who don’t have traditional access to gymnastics gyms or don’t want to have a part-time job at 11 years old. Ideally, the TLAG app will continue to grow and change lives, and the retreats will sell out. She will have trained staff leading workshops around the country and possibly the world. She wants to continue to inspire a movement with Train Like A Gymnast across the globe. Gray envisions meetups with thousands of people, primarily female, in convention center or stadium type venues across the world either led by Gray herself or staff members where they show people how they can do incredible things with their minds and bodies through different avenues “Think Like A Gymnast” “Eat Like A Gymnast” “Stretch Like A Gymnast” etc.
Personally:
Gray wants to buy a new construction home in Las Vegas in a quiet residential community, build a family, continue to travel for work as well as vacations, become a mom, continue to change lives, and grow her company. She hopes one day she will not have to work because she planned ahead, but that she chooses to continue to stay active and involved because she loves what she does and making an impact in the world.
Most Important Trait in the Business
According to Gray, being successful as a fitness trainer or model, a person has to be resourceful and tenacious. Human beings don’t lack resources; they lack the resourcefulness to reach the resources they need. She says, “ No matter what your situation is, be determined to change your circumstances if you are not happy with where you’re at. Never settle, think strategically, and stay committed and faithful that if you keep going, you’ll eventually get to your destination.”
