Natasha Marc was born in New Orleans and grew up in poverty; she has always known Hollywood was where she could achieve her dreams. After the hurricane calamity that destroyed her hometown, Natasha swiftly gathered her belongings and departed to Los Angeles, California.
With her ambitions in mind, she formed a group around herself who believed in her goals, then achieved success on numerous television shows, including Days of Our Lives, The Rookie, Timeless, The Good Lord Bird, and Ballers. However, her new Mayor of Kingstown, Paramount+ program, is truly putting her name in the limelight and showcasing what she’s made of.
We sat down with Natasha in person to discuss all of it.
1. Natasha Marc – how did you begin your career in entertainment?
As a youngster in grade school, I had my “first break through” as an actor. I first appeared in The Wizard of Oz, and then I appeared in the Good Witch. After which, I continued to do local fashion shows and beauty pageants in New Orleans.
2. Do you have any other interests beyond acting?
My other hobbies are health and fitness. I also enjoy fashion, and previously, I ran a menswear clothing line that I would love to restart in days to come.
3. How do you think you’ve “agitated” the entertainment field for the better with your takes and roles on them?
I feel I’ve “disrupted” the entertainment business in a good way through my work, simply by proving as an example. I feel I am the living proof that anybody from a poor background, without access to a Yale or Juilliard education, not forgetting having a speech impediment, can achieve their goals. Taking on responsibilities that are both challenging and validating reflects my efforts thus far.
4. What kinds of films and stories do you wish to appear in the future?
I’d want to work on a variety of projects and stories, ranging from Marvel blockbusters to romantic comedies and anything in between – I’m game for it all!
5. Who was your favorite colleague to work with during your professional career?
That’s a hard question to answer, as it’s difficult for me to pick someone who has worked alongside me the most. I’m not sure. Each person I’ve collaborated with has provided me a lot of depth and insights into my own creativity. I’m a big student by heart, and I enjoy observing and learning. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing what I enjoy alongside individuals who have influenced me for many years.
6. Natasha Marc – what are some of the trends you see in the entertainment business that you believe will last?
Not sure whether or not it is a real thing, but I notice that more and more people are starting a family and living lavish lives beyond the entertainment business rather than before when it appeared that everyone was letting the industry influence their life choices. I’m thrilled today because I want to live a healthy life, and this appears to be more achievable now than ever before.
7. What would you say to young performers considering moving to the United States?
I advise young actors to focus on who they are as individuals before anything else. Do not be a follower; build solid self-esteem and mental foundation by reading self-help books and exploring your craft on a daily basis.
8. What do you want people to remember Natasha Marc for when they are all looking back to the future?
I want people to remember my works as well as I for having such integrity and compassion that you like watching the roles I play or being drawn to watching me on screen. In addition, I also wish that off-screen, I’m recognized for who I am and that my dedication, faith, and hard work lead to “good” “disruptions” that contribute to worldwide progress!
