For brothers Sammy and Jay, serving in the military wasn’t just a career choice—it was a way of life. As the sons of a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, military service was both a foundational step toward their future business ventures and a proud family legacy. After high school, their paths diverged briefly: Sammy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 8 years, while Jay attended the University of California, Irvine, before joining the U.S. Army as an officer for 6 years.

Throughout their service, both brothers pursued their education diligently. Sammy earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, while Jay completed a Master’s in Marketing. After their years of service, they made the challenging decision to transition to civilian life, driven by their shared entrepreneurial ambitions.

The transition wasn’t easy. Their parents, valuing the stability and security of military service, initially hoped they would continue their military careers. However, the brothers shared a vision of building something together that would allow them to leverage their combined skills and experience in new ways.

This shared vision led them to launch a sports analytics and educational platform after careful research and planning. Drawing from their military background, they named it Bravo Six Picks, incorporating their service experience into their brand identity. Their business focuses on creating a supportive community where members can learn about sports analysis, statistics, and data-driven decision-making in athletics.

The venture quickly evolved into a thriving subscription-based educational platform where members can access expert analysis, participate in discussions about sports trends and statistics, and learn about various aspects of the sports industry. Their community has become a hub for sports enthusiasts who want to deepen their understanding of analytics and strategy in athletics.

On Bravo Six Picks, members join a digital community focused on sports performance analysis and insights. For $40 monthly, users can access educational resources and connect with other analytical minds. “It’s about bringing together diverse experiences that members can learn from, creating a SaaS-like ecosystem for sports knowledge,” explains Sammy, the company’s co-founder and CEO.

The partnership between the brothers proved to be a perfect match. “We’ve always wanted to work together outside of the military,” Sammy shares. “The idea of combining our skills and building something of our own has always been a goal for us.” Their complementary abilities created a strong foundation: Sammy’s business acumen paired well with Jay’s marketing expertise, allowing them to build a sustainable business model based on providing real value through education, analysis, and support.

Despite their growing success, the brothers emphasize that their mission extends beyond business metrics. “We want to help others succeed,” Jay explains. “Whether that’s through education or inspiring them to chase their own dreams, giving back is a big part of what drives us.” In their roles as business owners, they focus on developing educational content and analytical insights, building and maintaining an engaged community, and ensuring high-quality resources and support for their growing user base.

As their platform continues to expand, Sammy and Jay maintain their focus on sustainable growth. They’ve begun exploring merchandise opportunities, creating branded products that represent their community values, while also developing new educational programs and expanding their analysis into different sports markets.

“The military taught us how to lead and adapt,” Sammy reflects. “Entrepreneurship has taught us how to create and inspire. Together, we’re building something that’s bigger than ourselves.” This philosophy has shaped their approach to business development, as they emphasize that military training provides valuable skills like discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking that translate well to entrepreneurship.

For these veteran brothers, entrepreneurship is not just a career; it’s a mission—one rooted in service, innovation, and the desire to leave a lasting positive impact on their community. Their journey demonstrates that with methodical planning, consistent value delivery, and a focus on creating positive change, military veterans can successfully transition their leadership skills into the business world.
