The celebrated author of “Life Is A Comeback” hopes to one day soon have everyone walking around with their favorite sport in their pocket in the form of a deck of FLORTS, a new sports-based card game invented by Fordham.
The new FLORTS card game only takes minutes to play and can be enjoyed solo or with up to six people. All scoring correlates to each particular sport and gives each player the excitement of playing in a real live action sporting event as they work through the FLORTS deck. In the football version, you can score a touchdown. In basketball, you can make a three-pointer. In baseball, you can hit a home run. There are 15 different versions of the FLORTS decks that represent 15 popular sports including soccer, hockey, golf, tennis, softball, volleyball, boxing, MMA, grand prix racing, stock car racing, lacrosse and track and field.
“While play testing the game, it’s fun to see players get excited”, says Fordham. “The game goes by so quick that people want to immediately play it again. It has that addictive element to it that you want your product to possess.” According to Fordham, the average FLORTS card game can be played in three to six minutes.
The Florida-born serial entrepreneur is no stranger to enjoying successful exits in regard to his business ventures. “I sold a record company, a film company and was part of the start-up team that sold CrowdAlbum to Spotify in 2016,” says the award-winning filmmaker. By late 2025, Fordham looks to bring on a small group of investors to inject capital into the new venture. “I plan to launch FLORTS at the World Cup in 2026,” hopes Fordham. “However, if we get an offer we can’t refuse beforehand then we may have to accept it. This is America.”
