In the heart of Missouri, USA, a unique artist named Hatrexus, born Aiden Johnson, embarks on a cosmic journey that transcends the boundaries of traditional music production. Hatrexus is not just a musician; he’s a storyteller, a creator of worlds, and a master of auditory experience. His universe, Sector 95, is a sprawling epic set in the depths of space, where the forces of good and evil clash in a battle of cosmic proportions.

Hatrexus’s journey into music began with an ambitious dream to develop a video game titled “Sector 95.” This project, although eventually shelved, was the catalyst for his discovery of a profound passion for music production. The game’s concept, centered around the fictional universe of Sector 95, laid the foundation for what would become an extensive narrative explored through his music. In 2022, Hatrexus released the “Sector 95 (Original Game Soundtrack),” marking the official birth of his musical venture. Tracks like ‘Sectors Of The Universe’, ‘A Battle In The Times’, and ‘The Breaking Of Will’ serve not just as pieces of music but as chapters in a larger story that Hatrexus continues to tell.

Since the soundtrack’s release, Hatrexus has introduced a multitude of singles and an EP titled ‘Stars Perish’ in 2023, available for listeners on Spotify. Each track is a piece of the puzzle in the vast narrative of Sector 95, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the story of Zappta, a demigod whose life is shattered by the Salomites, a demonic hive mind virus controlled by the nefarious Zatar.

The protagonist, Zappta, hails from the planet Detrodoe, which, along with his species and family, falls victim to the Salomites. In the wake of his world’s destruction, Zappta encounters his dying god, who bestows upon him godly powers of lightning—the only force capable of defeating Zatar and his minions. Vengeance becomes Zappta’s driving force, setting the stage for an epic saga of retribution against the backdrop of a universe just emerging from a nuclear winter.

The anticipated upcoming single by Hatrexus – ‘Captive Souls’

Hatrexus’s music transcends mere listening pleasure, plunging listeners deep into the heart of Sector 95’s vast, storied universe. This unique sound, described by Hatrexus himself, is meticulously crafted to reflect the complex energy of its fictional realm—a blend of darkness, melancholy, and grandeur, interwoven with subtle threads of metal and the pulsating rhythms of dark electronica synthwave. This rich, sonic tapestry is not just heard; it is felt, embodying the narrative’s core and inviting listeners to step into a world besieged by cosmic turmoil.

The music of Hatrexus serves as a bridge to Sector 95, allowing one to experience the depth of its story’s emotions and the intensity of its battles as if standing alongside its characters. Each track is an invitation to journey through a universe where the lines between music and storytelling blur, creating a profoundly immersive experience. Through his compositions, Hatrexus doesn’t just share a story; he offers a gateway into an alternate reality, where each note and beat plays a crucial role in unfolding the epic saga of Zappta’s vengeance. It’s an auditory journey that captivates and engrosses, ensuring that listeners are not merely observers but participants in the unfolding drama of Sector 95.

When asked about the inception of his musical journey, Hatrexus recalls the moment he downloaded FL Studio to create a soundtrack for the then-planned Sector 95 game. The instant connection he felt with music production led him to pivot entirely from game development to music. Initially focusing on instrumentals, typical of video game background scores, he gradually expanded his repertoire to include vocals, enriching the auditory experience of his universe.

Hatrexus hopes his music will not only immerse listeners in the Sector 95 storyline but also empower them. His influences—Gojira, for their drum patterns; various retro video game soundtracks, as a nod to his origins; Really Slow Motion, for their epic nature; and Instrumental Core, for their orchestral elements—shape the unique sound that defines Sector 95’s auditory landscape.

Currently, Hatrexus is working on a book for Sector 95 and a new single titled “Captive Souls,” promising further exploration of his expansive universe. His work is a testament to the power of music to tell stories, evoke emotions, and transport listeners to other worlds.

For those intrigued by the tale of Sector 95 and the sounds that bring it to life, Hatrexus’s music is available on Spotify, and updates on his projects can be found on his YouTube channel. This artist’s journey from aspiring game developer to a master of musical narratives highlights the unexpected paths creativity can take. Hatrexus’s Sector 95 is more than just music; it’s an invitation to embark on a journey through the cosmos, where each note and lyric is a step further into a universe brimming with stories waiting to be told.
