The founder of The Eating Disorder Center, based in Rockville Maryland, saw a need for providers who are skilled in eating disorder therapy-which is why she founded the center. Today, The Eating Disorder Center works with people virtually for eating disorder therapy throughout Maryland, Virginia & Washington D.C. The Eating Disorder Center also provides eating disorder recovery coaching for people worldwide.
Eating disorders are the second deadliest mental illness and can consume people’s lives. Eating disorders may cause someone to think about food and their body a lot of the time. People struggling with eating disorders often feel trapped and may want to break free from the eating disorder and at the same time feel scared to pursue recovery.
The Eating Disorder Center is a group outpatient psychotherapy practice that uses the top evidence based treatments for eating disorders. Many of the staff are either personally recovered or have supported a loved one in recovery.
“The Eating Disorder Center is the top in our nation. The clinicians there are true experts in treating eating disorders. They are kind compassionate and knowledgeable.
I highly highly recommend!”

What If You Are Not Sure If You Have an Eating Disorder?
According to Jennifer Rollin, MSW, LCSW-C, the founder of The Eating Disorder Center any struggle with food and body image is deserving of treatment and support. Struggling with these issues can chip away at your happiness and cause you to feel exhausted.
Additionally, many individuals with eating disorders struggle with “not feeling sick enough” which Jennifer says is a common thought, however she also says that anyone struggling with an eating disorder deserves help and support. There is no such thing as “not being sick enough.”
Jennifer also notes that “eating disorders are mental illnesses, and we cannot tell how much someone is suffering on the basis of their physical appearance. Additionally, life-threatening eating disorders can impact people of all weights, body types, ages, ethnicities, genders, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. They do not discriminate.”
Jennifer says that “if you have a voice in your head that convinces you to restrict your food, over-exercise, binge, purge, or engage in any other eating disorder behaviors, you are “sick enough” and you deserve to get help and support.”
